High speed cutting, enables adiabatic heating of the sheared zone and reduces the energy required for cutting while enhancing edge quality. While an increased roll over call be observed, there is little to no burr-formation with impulse shearing. Ultra high strength steel, which can only be cut by laser of water-jet machining, can be sheared with high precision using this method.

Shearing can also be conducted with technology such as electromagnetic coils and high speed presses. AII has access to these technologies as well to meet shearing needs.
